I have SGH E630, bought USB data cable for this kind of phone im installing the drivers, PIM 1.0 and everything (exept PC sync, i read earlier on forum that sum1 installed that one as well ), and i changed the cables 4 times at the guy that sells them. Im going mad. it cant go online, can sum1 plz help me how to do it, i think the problem is at the modem, or sumthing with USB driver, i just cant get it online , INSTEAD the phone is Charging 
plz sum1 help me i really need to put my pics on the comp plzzz

First of all, we have to find out if you bought the right cable for E630 or not. Do you know the model number of the cable? If not, check for any label on the cable and see what is marked on it. The next thing is to check if the driver is installed correctly. Go to Device Manager and check under Ports (COM & LPT), see if you find any line like ---usb to serial--- (COMx). COMx is the COM port that is assigned to the usb cable and x can be any number from 3 or above. On the other hand if you don't find that line but other lines with "!" mark, that either means the drive is not installed correctly or it is a wrong driver for the cable. If everything is still fine, then in PIMS, go to File - setup and change the Port to COMx and speed to 115200. You may have to close PIMs and restart the program for it to update the change. Remember to always plug the usb cable to the same usb port or else it will reassign a different COM port to the cable and you have to change PIMs setup again.

when you connect the usb cable to the phone it will really trickle charge so its pretty normal.if you will read the posts here, most people dont get the software to say that its "online" at all. the only thing that most people can do here (including myself) is to use the file manager to transfer images and melodies (mp3's) to our samsung phones.
when you open the samsung PC suite software or the PIM and file manager software, all the other icons are greyed out except FILEMANAGER.so just click on that and hopefully you can get it to work.

heyy ,
yes the cable says E 630 It is the right one, i also installed the driver and in the device manager it says data link USB (working) But it doesnt say samsung or anything, only data cable, it is on the com 8 also i dit the setup at the 8 but again offline, what do u think that the prob is ?
plz help me on this one if u can

It seems that everything is set properly. Does fineasschic's comment work for you? By the way, are you using the PC Studio PIMs (ver. 1.0) for E630 from Samsung?

Did you also install PC Studio Internet Access (ver.1 .0)? It is a modem driver which allows you to use E630 as wireless modem. After you install the modem driver, go to control panel - Phone and Modem and see if it can detect Samsung modem. If it can, that means the communication between the phone and PC is OK.
Another thing you can try is install the whole setup in another PC and see if it works.

Hey.
Yes i had PIMS ver 1.0 i also downloaded the one from the link but again the same : It is offline and in the file manager there is nothing u can enter in, i dont really have an idea what the prob is , i tried the internet access thing, and yes it recognises Samsung GPRS modem, in the COM4 it is data cable(working) (not samsung or anything), i downloaded the drivers by the CD and from the internet, , also i tried it on my laptop but again its the same, it doesnt become online, what do u think i should do ? I am really gettin crazy .  help plz

It seems like there is some confusion on the COM port being assigned to the usb cable. Your earlier post said that COM8 is assigned to the cable but Samsung modem is using COM4. Why don't you try PIMs setup to use COM4 and see if it works or not.

same problem here. i have a samsung sgh t509 and i am using pc studio 2 and it says that my phone is connected but it cannot read any data from my phone. i have also tried pc studio 3 and its the same problem.

Yes i know, but there is no com 4 in my pc only COM6,7,8,9,10,11
