ok so it worked...sorry bout that...

Well like many people on here, i have a Samsung phone (D500) and have purchase a cable + software off Ebay claiming to be for the D500 series of Samsung Phones....i tried complaining to the guy i purchased it from and he sent me here...

So MY problem is...I can access my SMS, Organsier and Caller records with the PIMS program, BUT the music and image icons are "grey" and unaccessible! I tried using the Image editor program as well, but again i cannot put anything on my phone!

I have read through all the posts and am still having trouble! icon_wacko.gif

- i have unistalled and then downloaded the software from the samsung website - to no avail!

- i have checked my COM settings and although i temporarily stuffed the driver around as the phone was registered in USB drivers and devices when i reinstalled the software, i think they are now right as COM3 setting.

Some of you have mentioned setting the modem up, can anyone verify if this definately helps, and if so outline for me step by step what i need to do to set that up?

Is there anything else i can do? All i wanted this stupid cable for was to put music on my phone and save my images to my computer....my Ex had the D600 and he got the software and cable with his phone and it worked perfectly on his....they should make these standard packages with all phones that can use it! bah humbug!

Sorry for that little rant, i hope someone can help! Any will be appreciated!

Cheers. icon_wink.gif

The music and image icon greyed out because they are not used anymore for PIMS. Instead they are handled by File Manager. Click the File Manager icon and expand My Phone to access different folders. Click F1 within PIMS for the help Menu for more details on how to use the File Manager.

js 1662,

U remind of Grasshopper's sinse in Kung Fu. All knowing. icon_biggrin.gif

Anyways, I do have a laptop I have tried the PIM on and got nothing. I'll try the Internet Access on it and see what happens . It can't be the cable because I am able to use EasyStudio and upload .mmf's and pictures.

Thanks,
MTT

I am using Samsung PC Studio 2.0 and i need to transfer all my contacts from Outlook to my D500. My contacts in Outlook are put in specific groups. However, when I sync the contacts to the phone, they are not put in groups, they are left in 'not assigned'. How do I make this syncronization complete?

Im going crazy here.
My daughter has this phone and wants to download her pictures on her phone to her PC.
Now, Im usally not a PC dummy .... but this is killing me.
I have purchased a kabel kit with this "old fashion" com1 end.
Anyway, I have installed all the software several time, but I get no connections with the phone what so ever.
I even tried it on 2 pc´s now ...
When I try to start Samsung PC PIMS 1.0, nothing happens ... niet, nada nothing.
Its much like Masstechteach´s issue.

I go to "my computer" and look under "Mobil unit" and there is just no "connection" ?

WHAT can I do`?
Any help would be greatly appriciated

Thanks !

1st of all, check if you got the correct cable for your phone. Unlike Nokia or Sony, Samsung has many different cables and only one of them is good for your model. By the way, what model is your phone and which cable did you buy?

If the cable is correct, check PIMS setup and set the speed to 115200?

I have a Samsung D900 slider phone which comes with the PC V3 Software to provide USB backup of the phone data on a Microsoft XP computer.

It works just fine. However. It blasts something such that *.mpg videos will no longer play in Windows Meida Player or any other Microsoft product such as PowerPoint. Removing the Samsung software restores the proper functionality with media player. This is a major problem. It happens 100% of the time so there is a fundamental flaw in the Samsung code. Does anyone know of a fix or a better release?

Thanks,

Ed

Has anyone had any luck with an A880 model. Has anyone even tried?

I have been having the problem of studio manager not showing any com ports to choose from in the drop-down box, nor can I see a place to manually type them in.
