I do have the same problem, I have data clble KQ-U8A and drivers but when I connet it WinXP dosen't show new device.

I too went round and round with the vx3200 usb cable. Since the first one I bought didnt work. There are 2 types one is a straight thru cable with skinny wire, the other has a big round converter in the middle of the cable. Thats the one you need. I got mine a radio shack, but that was 6 months ago, also be sure to download the prolific drivers as another guy posted, they were needed to make it work in xp. good luck
