I've looked high and low. Samsung's site has some program that can be downloaded available in Portugese only. I'm looking for synch software and anything that will let me do upload and download the wallpaper/tones/games/etc.

Check mobileaction web site, they have usb cable that support SCH-A890.
If you only need a cable, check radioshack, they do sell usb cables for cdma phones but not sure if it support A890. Check their return policy first when you buy the cable and confirm if you can get a refund if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the fast reply. I wish those files were on any other site but geocities. They have some sort of download quota locking the files if you can believe that.

Yes, I do. I should have mentioned that but it seems to be the only place you can get an English version of PCLink 2000 as far as I know. Be patient, you should be able to download all the files in a few hours as you have to wait one hour in between each file download.

Follow ~ Don ~'s instruction, rename the files by replacing the file extension 'zip' with 'rar' and then use winrar to extract it.

Gotcha..thanks..the myanimator.exe (My Animator)and the AMF.exe (My Melody) modules are missing. Any idea where I can get these?

Do you mean the files that you downloaded is incomplete and some modules are missing? I have no idea where you can get those modules.
