Hello. This is obviously my first post here, but I did do a search and did not find anything dealing directly with this subject. I am amazed that no one is criticizing T-Mobile's policy of holding customers accountable for ALL the minutes (before and after) of a call originating before 9 pm exactly. (My plan has 600 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. Nights are defined as 9 pm to 6:59 am). Am I really the only person who believed that he'd be accountable for all the minutes BEFORE 9 pm, but none AFTER, regardless of what time the call actually originated? What kind of ridiculous policy/plan is that?! I made 3 calls that started around 8:58 pm, and ran for a couple of hours after 9 pm. I fully expected to be accountable for the few extra minutes prior to 9 pm, but did not, and DO not expect to be accountable for any minutes after 9 pm. The bill obviously reflects that there were only 2 minutes of non-night time, so why should I be charged for the entire call?
(And before anyone goes running to the contract to point out what's written in paragraph 11, at the very bottom, I'll save you the trouble and post it here: (Please note that the all caps are a result of a direct copy/paste - that's exactly the way it appears in the contract, so since there are some all caps issues on this site take that into consideration.) "FOR BILLING PURPOSES, THE TIME OR DAY (SUCH AS NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS) OF AN ENTIRE CALL IS DETERMINED BY THE TIME THE CALL STARTS. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN YOUR RATE PLAN MATERIALS, WEEKENDS ARE MIDNIGHT FRIDAY TO MIDNIGHT SUNDAY. NIGHTS ARE 9:00 PM TO 6:59 AM. " Even the supervisor was unable to immediately refer me to that section of the contract - she put me on hold for 5 minutes before finally coming back and telling me which section of the contract addresses that particular policy.)
The overage charges amounted to about $100. I was offered $20 off. I accepted the offer, but am wondering if all cell phone providers operate the same way (assessing full air time for calls starting before the designated free time).
Also, according to what I read in their contract, it would appear that I can make calls at 6:58 a.m. that run all day long, and those calls should be considered as part of the unlimited night plan since they originated prior to the 6:59 a.m. cutoff. Does the knife cut both ways?

Every service provider bills the same way and guess what they all round up to the next minute now too lol. Yes it works both ways if you start a call before 6:59am its free now matter how long it is (as long as you have free nights). The 20$ credit was nice, more then I would have offered. For future reference's dont wait for the bill. Check your minutes with #646# send, www.tmobile.com, 611(IVR or Cusotmer care). If the 600 minutes plan isnt enough you can switch to the 1000 which is a promotion right now for 39.99$ for the west coast and 45.99$ for central and east coast.
