I'm researching Cingular plan phones. Does Cingular have a 2-way/Walkie talkie phone service like Nextel?

the walkie-talkiething requires iden technology... Cingular/former ATT uses GSM/TDMA/analog....
what is offered in its place is mobile to mobile (within cingular / att) calling

CDMA will also offer walkie talkie service. Both sprint and verizon have it.

Out of curiosity, why would you want it if you have m2m available?
Personally I find the walkie-talkie constant toning back-and-forth and hearing both sides of the conversation via loud speakers very annoying out in public. If the whole point is to "save my minutes", then the unlimited m2m option would seem to be equivalent for general public use.
I could understand why the walkie-talkie method is of more use in construction/contractor settings for example. But not clear why for personal use.
Just my 2 cents.

Once UMTS is rolled out, Cingular "may" roll out P2T
