Hello,
I recently bought a new v80 off eBay. It is a French model and everything works great so far. I was able to set up the browser, able to upload ringtones and pictures via Mobile PhoneTools.
I do have a question. The phone always shows the "roam" triangle, even though I am positive I am not roaming. I was wondering how to program the phone to tell it where my home area is so it wont show the roaming triangle, or if this is even possible.
My reception is not the greatest and I was hoping setting the correct home area in the phone can improve that a little bit.

You can turn it off its at Seem 0032_0001 offset 34 bit 3(1 on, 0 off)

I just bought a V80 off ebay as well...I love this phone...but I can't get the triangle to go off either, indicating that I am roaming. I have SMS setup..and it works fine, but MMS and INTERNET do not work. I have all the settings, etc. from Cingular tech support. Mine is the French Model as well. Any instructions or help with setting MMS and Internet to use would be helpful. I'm very new at this! Also, the phone main display constantly goes back and forth between ATT and Cingular, is that normal? I changed the network settings to 1900 GSM on continuous mode.
I really appreciate any advice anyone can give to me...this phone is AWESOME so far...just would like to use all the features.
PS-Dont know if this helps but in setting up internet, it always tells me GPRS isn't avail.

This will fix your internet problem. Make sure you type in everything exactly as shown.

Out of curiousity, why did you change the network settings to 1900 GSM on continuous mode?

Ok, I have the app, but I can't get it to run, I get an error when I run the app. I have read some posts on how it gives errors with XP SP2 (which I am running). Does the phone have to be connected to the computer before the app starts? I am getting an error but I do not have the phone connected to the computer before starting the app.
Also, what exactly will this update do? Does it simply remove the roam triangle? Is there any chance it can improve my reception?
