I have ATT sim card and whenI use in my ATT phoen I do not have problem with surfing the net ... but when I suse NOkia 6230 (originally cingular but unlocked) I keep gettingmessage Subscribe to GPRS...
What is the GRPRS setting for getting to mmode from a cingular phone...

the 6230 is similar to a 6200...try these steps
Press and hold MENU soft key (located right above the green call send key).
Use the NAVIGATION Key (located between the 2 soft keys and right above the #2 on the keypad) and move cursor down to SERVICES and select by pressing the SELECT soft key.
Scroll to SETTINGS
Scroll to CONNECTION SETTINGS
Scroll to EDIT ACTIVE SERVICE SETTINGS
Scroll to SETTINGS NAME. This should read "AWS"
Scroll down to HOMEPAGE. This should read http://home
Scroll down to SESSION MODE. This should read "PERMANENT"
Scroll down to CONNECTION SECURITY. This should read "OFF"
Scroll down to DATA BEARER. This should read "GPRS"
Scroll down to BEARER SETTINGS. Press the SELECT soft key.
Scroll down to IP ADDRESS. This should read "010.250.250.250"Scroll down to AUTHENTICATION TYPE. This should read "NORMAL"
Scroll down to LOGIN TYPE. This should read "AUTOMATIC"
Scroll down to USER NAME. This should be blank.
Scroll down to PASSWORD. This should be blank.

I have tried the setting you said but it still says subscribe to GPRS

hmmm... are you former ATT right now or new cingular ?(wwat logo is on your simcard)

look fopr a data setting called APN....
when you find that setting the APN should read proxy
I'm sorry I dont have that menu setting for you...

Hi there,
I had the same problem, but I went to the Nokia Web site at:
http://www.nokiausa.com/support/settings/1,1921,,00.html
There you will find the settings required to activate your web access. It worked with my nokia 6230i, it should also work with yours.
