I just got a new plan with T-mobile and my only other provider before was cingular. Cingular had an insurance policy for like 4 dollars a month which I thought was great. I just assumed all the companies had this. Am I basically screwed if my phone gets stolen or I lose/break it?
Is cingular the only company that provides insurance?

t-mobile does have insurance. call customer service or go to your nearest t-mobile store and ask them about insurance. when i started my plan a couple of years ago, it was a one time payment.

T-Mobile does not have insurance. I sell them. They have a program that will replace your phone if its defective. If you do something to your phone they will offer the phone at a discounted price then it would normally go for.

I'd rather to buy one more phone
just in case
or swap it every other day (since I use GPRS for several hours a day, it may hurt the phone)

T-Mobile will start issuing insurance for 4 dollars a month next month, I just asked. They are also going to increase the network by 8,000 cities!

hours per day?
WOW. You are a dedicated user.
Perhhaps you can help me out. I am new to T mobile, GSM and my Samsung v205.
I have signed up for the 600 anytime, unlimited nights and weekends package, coming from Verizon where I had a similar plan.
With Verizon I was able to make data calls that utilized my minutes, I was able to do this by making some changes in my phone programming.
Is there anyway to do this with the T mobile system and my phone? Or must I sign up for t zone (which my take is a limited wireless internet) or the GPRS package that costs me something like $20 per month (this is kind of overkill as I doubt I will do that much data)
I would love to be able to mess with the data features on my phone during the evenings and on the weekends, while utilizing my unlimited airtime.
Can this be done?
thanks
eric

yes, you can do that
but you need an ISP
and the speed is only 9.6k.....
unlimited GPRS is the best offer you can get
trust me, you need a lot of more
then, go for that
20 bucks including T-Zone and phone as GPRS modem
by my usage, I use more than 1G every month
and more, unlimited GPRS can act as backup internet

Insurance is now available for 3.99/mo. covers lost/stolen phone for a deductible. 60 day free trial on the insurance and its 7x.xx to replace a phone in first 30 or 60 days then 3x.xx after that......call into customer care for details or to go t-mobile.com

What exactly can I do with the irDA port? I have a laptop with an infrared port and when I activate the irDA on the phone and align it with my laptop it recognizes it but then what? What can I do with it? Can I use it as a modem to connect to the internet? I would like to know if it's possible to use my phone and laptop to access the internet when I'm away from my home. I dont have any cables of any sort. I just want to be able to use the infrared port to connect? Does anyone know how I can do that or if that's even possible? Please let me know.
Thanks
