Ok, I'm a total dud on this issue so please help me. I've done a bit of searching but can't find any definitive step by step guide. I'd really appreciate any help.
How do I transfer Mp3 music files from my PC to my Nokia 6230? I have the files on my PC.
I need a step by step guide and what devices, programs i need.
So far I've heard I need a bluetooth 'device'. What is this? Does it plug into the phone or PC? Does it have USB connection?
What programs do I need on my PC? I've heard of a 'PC suite', whats this? Where do I get it from?
What do I do then?
I'm using Windows XP and dial-up internet if thats any help.
Please help and thanks in advance

Firstly you need a bluetooth adaptor such as this one: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Sectio n_Id=200583&pcount=&Product_Id=196899 You also need a program called Nokia PC suite which you can download from here http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,72014,00.html You connect your adaptor (which uses USB) to your computer. You then use the software the comes with it to set up your phone. You then activate bluetooth on your phone, go into nokia pc suite, click on transfer music so a program called nokia audio manager opens and then add music to the list, select where on your phone you want it to go and click transfer

I wouldn't recommend a Bluetooth adaptor.... unless you've got several hours time for uploading mp3s... you should get a DKU-2 cable, much (very much!) faster than bluetooth.
The rest is the same... use PC Suite to put the stuff on the phone, it's quite selfexplaining...

I yesterday downloaded the converter app from Nokia - Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 (converts big MP3 files to smaller files - hardly any degradation in sound). You can then connect your phone to the computer using an IR port or bluetooth and use the 'file manager' to move the files (video, audio, whatever) from your folder on the pc to wherever you want them on the phone.
Good luck!

Ok so i'll go and buy a Bluetooth adaptor tomorrow. How long will it take to download to my mobile? Someone mentioned hrs, is that for real?????? What alternatives are there to an adaptor?
Keep the replies coming.
thanks

one song abt 3MB takes a few minutes only..but if u r uploading a whole album it might take abt an hour..i have a bluetooth......works fine since im in no hurry...more convenient as no wires around and the phone operates the same with or without being paired with the coputer.

The quickest way to transfer music to the 6230 is to buy an MMC reader for your desktop. Pop the MMC into it, drag and drop the music onto it, then put the MMC back into the phone. If you are using USB2 1GB of data takes less than 5 minutes!
MMC readers are much better value than a DKU cable because it is non-proprietary and you can still use it when you eventually change phones. And they are better than Bluetooth which is very slow.

Ok i've connected a bluetooth adaptor but when trying to transfer files (4Mb+), it says not enough memory on the phone!
That can't be true cos I've got a 32Mb MMC card and 3Mb on the phone memory card.
Whats going on? Is it trying to send memory to the phone card and not the MMC? How do I correct this?
Please help!

Are u transferring using the pc suite or r u simply sending the files to the phone? If u r doing the latter, u'll get that message coz the phone sends the file as a message which is stored in the phone memory and obviously, u dont have enuff memory there.
U could try using the nokia pc suite and then use the nokia phone browser to send the file directly to the mmc.

make sure that when you are sending the music you have selected your memory card as the destination folder
