I've given up on the cable and got an IrDA device... it has a slower data transfer speed than the cable but is much easier to work... If anyone needs the generic drivers for CA42 cables you can email me at cantstopthetide@yahoo.com

Hello Foltz61,
Did you get any specific error message or were you unable to install it?

Windows wouldn't use the driver. The company I bought it from is giving me a refund + shipping so, I won't be needing any more help. They said the cable they sent wasn't compatible with my phone. The one they had listed in the auction was a DKU-5. The cable they sent me was a generic cable.
Thanks

Thank you for your response!
More and more this is hapenning.... the CA-42 are being replaced by the DKU-5 cables.... The company I bought mine did the same, they sent me another idem (I requested an IrDA instead of the cable) with free shipping.
All best

I waited three weeks for my ca-42 cable I got it from vavolo.com it say "nok" and lists the models. It came from Japan. I have a 6101 and when I installed the drivers and PC Suite it came with I connected the phone and get a message like "Enhancement not supported" can the cable still work even tho it is not recognised? or is it the drivers?

Heya!
I've got a generic CA-42 Cable as well. I've tried the drivers on the CD provided and installed Nokia PC Suite. But, when I get up to the 'Get Connected' thing on PC Suite, it says 'Enhancement not supported' on my Nokia 6101. I've downloaded Daniel's Driver and the CA42hack thing from the other guy (please remind me who you are), and I've unzipped (decompressed) both files.
But I have no idea to open them to install the drivers from there. I saw a file called 'setup' from Daniel's Driver, but its a Windows media file and I've tried opening it, but it just opens up Windows Media Player and says something about not recognising the file extension. I've uninstalled PC Suite and the older driver I had and tried the 'Add New Hardware' in Control Panel, and plugged the cable in, but when i try to search for driver, Daniel's Driver does not come up. Now the Cable reads as just 'USB' with an exclamation mark in Device Manager. Can anyone help me with this? I WILL BE SOOO DAMN GRATEFUL FOR WHO CAN HELP ME!!!
BTW: I've got a Nokia 6101 and running a Windows 2000 OS.
