Similar trouble here but a bit more info...

I bought the USB cable from mobilesandpdas as well. Installed usb driver ok, and I can use a terminal program to communicate with the e335 over the com port.... the e335 phone responds to AT modem commands properly, so it seems the comm link is ok .... but the PIM and file manager 1.0 for the e335 can not connect to the phone ....

So I bought the samsung OEM serial (not usb to serial) cable and easy gprs package... I can not get the serial cable to talk to the phone at all using a terminal program... however, both the serial cable and the usb/serial cable cable work fine with easy gprs with a different model of samsung phone a co-worker had at work...

I tried the easy gprs with the usb/serial cable to the e335 and still no connection... so ....

usb/serial cable and hyperterm .... works with e335 (good comm link?)
usb/serial cable and easy gprs ... does not work with e335
usb/serial cable and e335 PIM/file manager ... does not work with e335
usb/serial cable and easy gprs ... works with other samsung model
(conclusion ...
(usb to serial cable and drivers are OK)
(easy grps oftware will not work with e335)
(e335 PIM/file manager does not work with e335)

serial cable and hyperterm ... does not work with e335
serial cable and easy gprs ... does not work with e335
serial cable and easy gprs ... works with other samsung model
serial cable and PIM/file manager ... does not work with e335
(conclusion ... serial cable is OK)
(serial cable does not work with e335)

Based upon what I see so far, it appears that if you can comm into the e335 with hyperterm and modem AT commands, the usb to serial cable and drivers are ok.

It appears that the e335 simply does not respond to either the PIM/file manager or easy gprs.

Does anyone have a e335 talking to either the PIM/file manager or Easy GPRS with any cable???

Dennis

Hi all.. Thanks for working to get this sorted out. We have went out and purchased the phone to troubleshoot this situation. It may take some time, but are confident we can get it going. A few customers said they have got it, but had no useful insight other than they changed the port for the cable in device manager to COM 11. I believe this is arbitrary, so this does not help much.

Another person said they managed to get phonebook entries downloaded, but I have not received the details of that either.

My guess is one that T-Mobile may require a different driver than the standard samsung ones. They do require this for other phone brands we had to troubleshoot in the past.

We will update this thread once we have useful solutions. We are going to test the serial cable as well, and if we succeed with that first, we will offer all those who got a USB cable from us a free serial cable.

I DOWNLOADED THE USB TO SERIAL DRIVER THAT THEY EMAILED ME BUT IT DOES NOTHING. I GET THE MESSAGE THAT THE DRIVER COULD NOT BE FOUND. icon_redface.gif

I have bought a data cable for my samsung x-475 on ebay from mobilsandpdas. upon receipt of the cable, I followed all of the directins that mobilsandpdas sent to me. I am having no luck at all. I have tried this at least 20 times and still get the same result. The usb to serial driver they gave me is not working right. the cable charges the phone but does nothing else. It tell me the driver was not installed for the cable and that it may not work properly. icon_cry.gif
I have made several attempts to contact mobilsandpdas by email and the first 2 responses stated to use the drivers they requested and that they were 100% compatible with my phone.THEY ARE NOT.... I went to samsungs site and downloaded the software programs for my phone and they do not detect the phone. It has to be something with the usb to serial driver that mobilsandpdas sent to me via email.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE OR HELP ME WITH TIS ISSUE???

Getting desperate and frustrated here icon_mad.gif

I was hopefull that mobilesandpdas would find a solution to the problems we outlined here, but so far no additional word... My experiences have not expanded beyond what I already described in my post above... icon_sad.gif
