Hi,
uninstall any previous drivers, then reboot. Install this new driver, having just the cable attached to the PC (no phone on the cable).
DRIVER INSTALL HELP
Please see the URL web addresses for software/driver links above for your specific phone.
This is the USB to Serial driver that makes the PC think you are running a serial cable.
1) Create a folder on your Desktop (of where you prefer) and save the software & driver in this folder.
2) Unzip the software and driver you just saved into the same folder.
3) Connect cable with no mobile to you PC.
4) Install Driver files only.
Next, go to device manager and see under ports if there is a "USB to Serial" or "Your Phone Model/Brand Here", etc., COM port being used. Highlight that, then right click your mouse and go to "properties", then the "Driver" tab. Click update driver (Do not mark the search online option for drivers). Set the Search to look via removable media (i.e.: your CD ROM Drive, PC Drive). Direct the Search to the folder you have the drivers in and click on the USB Drivers folder until you get to your operating system (i.e. XP, 2000, etc). Select this for install and proceed.
This will update the driver and you can confirm it in the device manager (see below on how to confirm proper driver install in the device manager.).
A Windows window may pop up about the driver signing. You can just click "continue Anyway".
DEVICE MANAGER: Confirming Driver Install/Port # claimed
After install of this driver, check under My Computer, Control Panel, System, Device Manager, then, go to Ports. You should see & note which COM port the USB to serial diver is using. Note this Port # and make sure when after installing the application software that the software is set to use the same Port #. If the Device Manager and the Software are not claiming the same Port #, the cable will not be recognized.
Install and start the software for your cable, and it should work.
If not, maybe switch the cable to a different USB port on the outside of your PC. This may work. Alternately, you must check set the cable to run on another Port # in the Device Manager.
To set the cable to a different port:
Reboot. Then go back to Ports section in your Device Manager and right click the USB/Serial Driver as you did before. Go to properties and then port settings, then advanced. Here you can set the COM to fit what the software wants to use. Just make it a COM that is not used by other hardware (COM 9 for example). Make sure that the COM Port # you claim for the driver is the same one you claim in the software too. They must be aligned to use the same port to communicate. You can configure these settings here as you need to attain connection.
If you are getting a yellow exclamation mark at the location of the device, right click your mouse on it and update driver, point the search to the folder you
created on your computer with the above drivers in it. This should get your driver working.

Hey.. we tried the serial e335 cable, with no success as well, samsung original too. Serial cables require no drivers.

HI,
Ok, as stated, we really do our best to resolve any issues.
The E335 cable was the right cable, as well as the drivers. Samsung's sotware will not work.
We have software that will work, and is better than samsung's PIMS (if it even worked). Unfortunately, we had to purchase it, but I can offer it at below cost to anyone who bought a cable form us and was not refunded already.
Please PM me or contact me where you purchased the cable for details.
Thanks

Everybody,
As mobilesandpdas stated in a couple of posts back, he has a solution for the Samsung E335 problem.
The USB cable I bought from mobilesandpdas on ebay a few months back works ok with the E335 (as I suspected earlier due to the fact that I could connect to the E335 using the cable and hyperterm). I contacted mobilesandpdas directly and provided him info about my purchase and refund status. You will need to contact them directly to determine what will be required for them to send you the new software. (it depends on if you received a refund and/or if you returned the cable)
The new software provided connects with my E335 using the mobilesandpdas USB cable and originally provided USB drivers. It seems to offer phonebook management, message management, and file management ... plus other tools such as an image editor ...
I have successfully edited the phonebook and deleted SMS messages. I have successfully deleted .mmf, .mid and .jpg files on the E335 and have uploaded .jpg files to the images directory and uploaded .mid and .mmf files to the sounds directory. The uploaded .mid and .mmf files play as expected as ring tones. The mmfs were created from .wav files as MA-3 12K sample mmf files using the program "Wave Sound Decorator". (file sizes over about 200 KB appear to crash the phone, but you don't really need them that long anyway) The .jpg files appear correctly in the images directory. So far I have been unable to upload .jpg files to the "my pictures" directory.. (the phone reboots when I try ... probably a phone restriction ... this causes a problem in using the images with phone entrys, but perhaps there is a workaround ... same problem as when you email a .jpg to the phone... it only saves in the images directory, and can be used as wallpaper but not as image in phonebooks)
This software works (for me at least) ... you can contact mobilesandpdas directly and see what it will take to get a copy ...
(You can probably e-mail them at cablehelp@mobilesandpdas.com with details of how you bought the cable and if you received a refund and if you returned the cable)
Good luck and Happy New Year!!!!

Can you just tell us the name of the software so that we can get a demo and give it a run?
That would be kind of you. Thanks.
