I am using a Nokia 3120 phone and a genuine Nokia ca-42 data cable to connect to a PC.
The connection works fine for all functions except the modem facility. When I try to acces the modem I get a port already in use error.
The modem is linked to COM 7 and I am using PC Suite 6.5. I can't see that any other apps are using COM7.
I have also tried installing and connecting with laptop on COM3 and get same problem.
Can anyone tell me what is going wrong.

The 3120 has no modem feature. It can't be used with a computer as modem.

I was wondering if you could help me...
I have purchased a ca-42 cable but can't get my computer to recognize it (T22 Thinkpad running Windows 2000). I downloaded the standard drivers and it still doesn't recognize my phone. If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Bruce

I foun the solution...
Please follow and install the drivers/software carefully *in the
following order*:
1. Please ensure that the data cable is unplugged from your PC. You
will need to install the USB to Serial port drivers by double
clicking on the file labelled "PL-2303 Driver Installer.exe" which
is located on the Installation CD-ROM provided. Alternatively, it
can be downloaded by clicking here.
<http://www.circuitcentral.com.au/PL-2303%20DRIVER.EXE>
2. Once the "PL-2303" Driver's have been installed, you will need to
install the DKU-5 Drivers by clicking here
<http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,5184,5447,00.html>
3. Once you have installed all of the above software, you will need
to insert the Nokia PC Suite CD-ROM that was supplied with your
phone. If you do not have this CD, you will be able to find a
download source from the Official Nokia Website: http://www.nokia.com
