i have gone through the manual but i just wanted to double check some things before i end up getting charged a lot for roaming or what not.

appreciate if anyone can clear these up for me:

i will not get charged for roaming unless the triangle indicator is on correct? so if i dont see it, i know im free to make calls as they would normally be charged?

also im not clear about what the 1x service indicator refers to? is there a 2x indicator as well? what does that all mean?

e911 mode? something i need to know about?

and just anything else you think might be good knowlege for a 1st time cell phone user.

appreciate it

thanks

1. you will not get charged unless your phone says it's in Roaming or Extended Network.
2. 1X basically stands for Digital, the 7000 is digital only, there is no analog. your most likely used to older phones showing bars and then the big "D", there currently to my knowledge is no 2X, but im sure in the future it will be utilized.
3. E911 mode, don't know, don't care...if theres an emergency i dial 911

a quick tip on your camera phone.....when taking dark or at night shots, it helps ALOT when you go into the options and turn "Counter Light" and "Night Mode" ON

and if you cannot see your front wallpaper all that great, turn up your Front Contrast to 30 to 35%, it brightens it up alot

Extended network means your on a tower that verizon has an agreement with, and most likely will not be charged anything. If you started your plan after febuary and are on an Americas Choice plan, you should have no roaming. Which means basically your phone will either be able to make the call, be it in digital/analog, extended network, or roaming, and you wont be charged, or you will have no signal at all and cant call.

one thing though, when i check my call list or whatever. it says i made one call under roam.....

mean im gonna get charged?

also i havent left my town and its completely covered by verizon so im a little suspect.

thanks

nope, shouldnt be charged. As long as your on one of the Americas Choice plans you should be good to go. Ive made a few roaming calls on my plan and have never seen any charges on my bill.
