Hi,

As stated in the topic... I have a .rar that contains several files including .dat, .ski, and .hs files. I have the latest version of mobile tools installed, but as far as I can tell, that restricts you to the graphics, audio, and video folders... Thanks for any help!

Cheers,

Dominik

Ok, got p2k and p2kman working and can see all the files on the phone... I noticed that the .hs files are now designated as "flex" files... Guess I have to somehow modify the flex to include the new skins as part of the OS... Hope I don't mess anything up, lol... Any tutorials anywhere?

Thank you for the offer Samsung... I played around with PST a while and figured out how to do it. Surprisingly, one of the Theme .hs files not only created the directory, but put all the files on the phone also. The other ones just created the directory and I had to use PSTman to upload all the .dat and .jpg files. Thank you guys for the help.

Cheers,

Dominik

Basically used similar instructions to other topics on this board...

It's amazing to me how primitive all the software used to make mods on Motorola phones is. Nokia is so far ahead of Motorola in this aspect. Everytime I program something on the V3 I hold my breath because if the data transmission were to be somehow interupted I think the phone would be jacked. Saying this, make sure you back everything up before making any modifications, especially if you are a newbie to Motorola like me. Standard disclaimer: I take no responsibility for the accuracy of these instructions and anything that happens to your phone if you decide to modify it...

On to the instructions for adding a theme...

- Open up PST, then under file go to "Open" then "pFlex."

- Browse to the directory that has the pFlex file (.hs) to create the directory for your theme. (Usually called "Create_dir_themename.hs" or something like this)

- Once you click open, it will put the phone in standby mode and a box will come up, click on the "run" box. When this is done, close PST.

- Now use P2Kman to look at the files on your phone. You should see a
new directory created called /a/mobile/skins/newthemename

- some theme pFlex files will create the directory and copy the files, some only create the directory. If you don't see the .dat, .ski, and .jpg for the new theme, use P2Kman to copy those files to the appropriate directory.

cheers,

Dominik
