Ok I went through the hole process in the HOW TO guide and everytime i go to play the ringtone on my phone it just says stopped. I do not think that changing the file ext. is going to work. Is there any way to just convert my mp3 into a mid. Everytime I use a program to convert my mp3 to mid it sounds just like a polyphonic ringtone not a realtone. How r the realtones u download mid files? I dont understand!!!!

It should be able to play mp3's. Did you use MPT to upload it?? Did you cut it correctly to the specs? You should have it at say 96kbps and no more than 30 seconds lastly it should be mono channel. Email me and I'll try to make you one you can try.

I also have alltel, and i cant get the damn mp3s to work...it just says they are corrupt, and when u rename a file from .mp3 to .mid, it plays, but theres no sound
i think it might be an alltel issue
but i did actually call motorola customer service, and they said the v265 would not play mp3s

Ok, tell me exactly how your trying to do this, I may be on to the fact that you just changed the EXT on it, that will do no justice for you. You must use a program to cut it down way down, ill try to make you one, email me with one of the mp3 files you tried to use as a ringer.

Well, if you can do it then congrats, and please share how you did, I tried to help him and it didn't work, huch leads to it most likely being an Alltel issue. Otherwise, polyphonic is all its got.

You can't turn realtones into a polyphonic and still make it sound like a song
polyphonic midi's are sets of instruments playing a sound...so therefore it will not produce any voice
