Hi all!
I've got a samsung e310 which look like exactly the same as the e316, and I'd like to know wether it is possible or not to flash it with a e316 Firmware...
Could you let me know if it is possible, and then, tell me where can I find this firmware?
Many Thanks

Is there any particular reason to flash your E310 to E316? Did you realize that E310 is European version but E316 is North American version and they use different GSM bands. 900/1800 for E310 and 850/1900 for E316. Your E310 probably won't work after you flash it with E316 firmware.

I want to change my firm because the vodafone one is VERY ugly!
That's why I would prefer a "normal" menu!
On the presentation of the e316 it's written thats the firmware is ok on e310
For the Record:
Samsung SGH-E316 (originally AT&T Wireless, now Cingular) is homologous to E315 (T-Mobile) and E317 (Cingular) in the United States and in Europe to the SGH-E300 and E310.

Isn't it true?
Thanks for replying![/url]

Yes, it it homologous indeed... but, the point is that as soon as you get aside the aesthetics factor... you won't be able to use your phone at all due to the supported bands difference.
To my knowledge, only the United States & Canada uses the 850/1900 band, possibly the exception of South America, but maybe not. The rest of the world uses 900/1800.

But anyway, tell me if I'm wrong, but if it doesn't work anymore with the e316 firmware, I can replace it qgain with the e310 firmware!
At least I would have tryed...
I have to try!
