Newbie here...first off, we're "former ATT" customers. I want a new cameraphone and in order to do that, I have to "switch" to Cingular and get one of their plans. A while ago, I think they had a family plan with 1000 shared minutes, now it's gone...what happened? 500 daytime min. split b/w myself and DH is too little, yet 1500 is too much. I think this plan was around $70. I'm thinking I want to go with Cingular b/c it gets decent reception where I live (cleveland, OH area). Most of my friends and family across the country also seem to have Cingular.
Another topic (I did read the rules and did a search)--I'm looking for a new cameraphone. The one I had in mind was the V551. My sister got it at super wal-mart for $45 w/a 2 yr agreement. However, I read the reviews here and on Amazon and I was surprised to see all the negatives. Here's what I'm looking for in a phone:
camera
speakerphone
decent reception for plain 'ol talking on the phone (receiving and placing calls, though I mostly place the calls)
I DON"T need:
to text message anyone
watch or take videos
to look cool to my friends
Not sure if I need:
bluetooth
I'm a 33 yr old stay at home mom who just needs a decent phone, but with a camera. Speakerphone is a feature I've had and miss desperately. Sorry this is so long---hope someone out there can guide me in the right direction. TIA!

you want the family share 79.99... 1000 min to share national roaming unlimited MTM and N&W... the 79.99 pays for the first 2 services... the 551 is a good choice... the V220 is a scaled down version

I just upgraded to a V551 and I couldn't be happier....
I have heard some complain about battery life, but mine has been fine. Maybe the newer ones are better?
I didn't think I needed bluetooth, but it has turned out to be quite handy.

Would suggest v551 as well. Family has several. Been very pleased with them.

I would wait on the new nokia flip, it has all the features you want, plus nokia have better reception than the motorolas.
