As some of you might already know i recently purchased myself a new Nokia 6680. I thought this would be the best place to answer a few questions which is the reason you might have noticed two other threads by me in two days.. im not too sure if this is a good or bad thing but anyway the more help the more i love you guys! icon_redface.gif

I currently have Nokia Suite and have been playing around with it for sometime now. I am able to download ring tones in .MIDI format and use them as ringtones im sure with this program but unfortunately it does not support .MP3 as a ringtone format.

Is there a program out there i can use to convert .MP3 to .MIDI if this has to be the case and is it possible to cut a certain part of the song so i could take the most attractive parts of songs and place them as ringtones!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks once again icon_biggrin.gif

there actually is but they sound horrible.....dun sound like the song itself...tried before......try searching google "mp3 midi converter". but they sound horrible..basically they juz try sensing the sound and vcreating the notes......midi is like a music note book..mp3 are sound waves..totally different..

OK, mp3 to midi is quite impossible, all programs out there make rubbish sounding files, not even close.

Why don't you convert the mp3 to amr, awb or wav? They are all supported.

amr and awb (awb are the better sounding files) can be created with the Multi Media Converter

I would prefer wav with special settings for the phone. The IMA ADPCM codec is prefered, very small and still sounds good.

If the 6600 pc suite is simlar to the 3650 pc suite, just check the box titled mp3 in the File Convertors Section in the PC Suite and it should convert the mp3 to a lossy WAV codec.
