i have this problem with my data cable. I got it off ebay with the cd driver and everything but when i look at the cd i don't see the compatibility with my phone. But the thing is i tried my old v400 and it worked fine.. i guess the cd provided the driver for that model. i was wondering if anyone can help me out or to maybe just send me a v551 driver. thanks it means a lot. oh and btw the program i'm using is mobile phone tools.

Delete V400 modem, connect V551 and should start detecting your phone.

You should also get the latest version of the software included. For example, with the software on the CD I received with my data cable....it wouldn't connect AT ALL (sync). I went to the site and downloaded the latest version of it and WALAA! It looks totally different as in easier to get used to using...which is a plus, but the biggest difference is the functionality difference. Worth the download.
One thing I also noticed is that if you plug your USB data cable into a USB hub of some sort.....expect problems (not for sure, just expect them). As I've seen, it wants its own standard port. Otherwise, you may have issues getting it to connect (sync).
Also, when you want to connect your pc and v551 with the data cable....I ALWAYS do a cold boot on my computer as well as a standard shut down on my v551 before I attempt. I've noticed problems connecting when I DIDN'T do the double shut down...so just advice.
