i was told today in a corporate store (by the manager) that insurance is still not available for the razr right now, but it will be on the 25th icon_biggrin.gif

they said that it would be 4.99 instead of 3.99, but they didnt know if the deductible was going to be the same or not.

guess we just have to wait and see....

Just curoius, with a sweet model like V551 why are you switching to Razor?? If the thin size matters then by all means I can understand.
My fingers are kinda big and the Razor didn't interest me.

Now Razor can be had for $100 or so and I wouldn't even consider insurance. Good luck !

im not switching, i LOVE my v551
ive been playing with a t610 and more recently, a t637; and i signed up my girlfriend with a razr 3 weeks ago

and although the phone might be down to $200, once you buy a phone you gotta wait at least 11 months to get the same price, so youre screwed if you lose it, drop it in a lake, or someone takes it after 5 or 6 months - thats where the insurance is key.

May i share my $.02 on insurance with lockline, (cingulars ins) ok a lil over 2 yrs ago I bought a brand new 3650 with an at&t plan and got ins as soon as i got it. for 2 yrs my phone was great worked great and i never had any problems even after many falls on hard surfaces and a night spent in an empty parking lot. l2 weeks ago i was getting out of my gf's car and my phone fell in some water thta had collected near the curb. after letting it dry I turned it back on and everything worked fine, except for the camera.

i called lockline to get a replacement but they say they no longer carry at&t phones and that the most comparable phone was a V551. Now no offense to the V551 owners but to me my 3650 was far superior in every way except size. so i wasn't to happy about paying a $35 deductible plus the 2 yrs of ins premiums. So after speaking to 2 CSR's and 1 supervisor I got the phone anyway. and it's now on e-bay. with the money i get i will get me another 3650 or 6620 or 6670

Had I known that i wouldn't get my same model phone back i would have preferred to put away my own 3.99 per month fro 2 yrs and my own $35 deductible and apply it to a new phone that i actually want not one they feel is most comparable.

24 months x $3.99 = $95.76 + $35 = $130.76.
How much is the V551 worth?
