Hello guys,

I'm extremely new to this cell phone business. In fact I have just gotten my FIRST ever cell phone with T-Mobile. I got the v330 phone with the plan, and have only had the phone and the plan for less than 30 days. Now, I have an opportunity to get a Motorola v635 off of Ebay. My question is:

What will it take on my part, once I get the v635 to function properly with all its functions, that is MMS, email, voicemail, bluetooth, service reception, T-Zones, on an American T-Mobile network. Now, I'm extremely new to this business, I don't know the first thing about modding phones and making them compatible with networks and etc, so could you guys tell me, or point me to a tutorial that will tell me how to achieve this purpose?

Also, what are other disadvantages that you guys have noticed by your experience and etc, about getting phones off of Ebay and trying to make them work with an American provider? I will deeply appreciate your help! Thanks for reading!

V635 is quad band phone so it will work with T-Mobile, you will need to set up wap and mms but you can do that by yourself there is a sticky at top of T-Mobile talk forum. Voicemail will work as long as you program T-Mobiles Vm number in 1805MESSAGE and SMS will work if you have TMO's service centre number. Bluetooth will work with no problems.

Well most phones has a lock on them so you cannot use other carriers sim cards with their phones. Examplea if you have a T-Mobile GSM phone then you cannot use this phone with cingular unless you remove the lock that T-Mo has on the phone and visa versa. If you are buying off ebay I would just fire the seller off an email asking him to reassure you that the phone is unlocked.

I have the v635 cell phone and until recently my Motorola V Series FM Stereo Headset 98310 SYN8609B FM stopped working. I checked to see if my cable/usb connection to my laptop was the problem, but I was able to communicate from the cell. I am not sure what changed, in terms of, the codes within my cell? This phone is not supported by my carrier (T-Mobile) and is unlocked, so I can not inquire or seek support from them. A while back, someone suggested I use their T-Zones to download from the internet and when I did that, seemingly, a syntax was transmitted to my phone by T-Mobile, and I was never able to connect to the internet, only to T-Zones' website. There I get a message that my phone is not supported???

Aside from this issue, my phone works just fine, except for the inability to use the FM headset now. I ordered another headset to see if that was the problem and neither set works. I have downloaded PK2, but because of Motorola's Phone Tools that works for me, I have yet to get PK2 to work, without having to unload Phone Tools and I am not sure how to work PK2, the updates or the editors. Can someone please help or explain what's going on?

The TMobile or Motorola forums would be a better place to ask this question. The answers will come much faster at either or those over the Other Service Provider forum.
