I've been on a family plan for over a year, and now I'm looking at getting a new phone. Lately I've been looking at the Motorola V3. What would I have to to to upgrade from my old v300? On the T-mobile website it says $199 for the phone (after instant rebate) Is that the price I would have to pay, or would it be different?

Well for mutiline accounts their policy is the you complete 11 months of active service without any non pay suspends/cancellations on a rate plan that is 69.99$ or higher to qualify for new customer pricing, The price qualifying customers pay is 249.99$ with a 50$ mail in rebate.

Crap, I have the 49.99 plan. Well, guess I won't be getting a new phone any time soon.

You can still upgrade as long as they give you the option to reniew your contract the pricing will not change no matter how many months you have unfortunately if your on the $49.99 family time plan.
