Anybody know how to get the back of an A460 phone off to gain access to the battery charging pin? Phone's a throw away unless I can correct a loose connection there. Thanks.

Maybe the user guide above will give some outlook on this subject, just browse it for the battery instructions.
*Helpfull Hint*
**On the bottom it tells you how many pages, instead of page 1 or 129, type 19 of 129**

Thanks. The phone has a definite problem because it will charge only if the charging plug is inserted a certain way. You have to wiggle it, twist it, push it, etc., and then finally a good connection is made. To keep charging, you have to hold that plug-pin position (which is impractical). There must be a loose solder connection or some mechanical break. Unless I can take the phone apart to see what the break is and fix it, the phone is useless - probably not worth what it would cost for a shop to fix it.

Form the expedition, and grab the tools
1 low watt soldering iron
1 screw driver
however enough courage it takes to fix but not break the phone
GOODLUCK

Thanks. I see 4 screws on back. I removed them but there is still resistance to removing the back. Is there another hidden screw somewhere or some other clasping mechanism, or do you just forcefully pry the back off (with care of course) once you remove these 4 screws?

most likely a support clip on both side. This is meant to hold the backing securely in place incase the screws give way. Try shuffling the case off by pressing the very bottom layer left or right-ward and up usually theres 2 supports | | by applying pressure to either side it frees one side allowing it to lift free |<wrap fingers here and pull outward and up, then free this side if the other breaks free >| At least thats how all the phones I've so far taken apart work. Carefull and goodluck

Hello, I have the same phone and would also love to know how to take off the back housing. Did you ever figure out how to do this? I tried to follow the instructions that Veilfore posted but I didn't fully understand. I really don't want to break the phone. I know the lil' bugger can come off though because sprint replaced it once. So anyway if you know the secret I'd love to hear it. Thanks a bunch, Zelda
