I just want to thank you for solving my 'DNS error' problem (I hope). The person or people who have had a problem must also have never realized that it was costing them money every time it announced the error. I lost Euro 37 before I discovered this. icon_cry.gif icon_mad.gif

rachyroo's explaination seems the most logical. Sorry Maxpower4, but your theory is innacurate as the samsung d500 stores messages in the outbox when they are sent/being sent, so logically when you delete these messages the DNS error would stop appearing which is not the case. I think the DNS error is something everybody expects it to be a difficult thing to fix, and yet its extreamly simple which is what rachyroo has done. Looked at it in his/her simpilist way possible and that enabled him/her to repair it, so i think i personally owe rachyroo a thankyou because even I expected this problem to be difficult and almost resorted to wasting time and money contacting samsung on an 0845 number just to find out it can be prepared quickly. Thnx rachyroo.

ok the 2 fixes on ere dont work.
dns means domestic network server (like bt )
also you CANT get email on payg with the d500 on o2-simply wont happen-you hAVE to be a pm/contract you can use email online on the d500 by usin the browser.
ANYONE got a fix for this as i dont wanna use the restore

the one -menu/email/settings/recieve dint work as dint the email send-AS YOU CANT SEND EMAILS ON PAYG TARIFF! icon_question.gif

Ok there are mixed signals ere
everyone assumin the d500 COULD be used fer email on payg tariff are affected by the dns server error
rachys one is half right but the error is caused by 2 things
the email accoun t that you mistakenly set up+ more important-THE EMAIL YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO SEND!(but im not i hear you shout!?!?!-
AFTER doin rachys -menu-email-settings -recieve settings
you HAVE to go into EMAIL OUTBOX +delete the outgoin messages-THAT IS WHY THE ERROR COMES UP-its tryin 2 send the emails in the outbox-as they havent+cant be sent-as theres no account!that has 2b accessed "online" (via the OK button or browser)
this dns thing restarts if the fones battery runs out/power is cut -so the settings+outbox need 2 b cleared+then it will right itself+stop the dns thing on reboot-THERE IS NOTHIN WRONG WITH THE FONE AS IN SOME POSTS-dns=domestic network server
domestic-local
network-need i explain
server-what collects+distributes the "emails/sms" etc

so do rachys thing then get shot of outbox-infact just delete the whole shabang you dont need it-on 02 u cant use it
mines cured now ive done both so can confirm its a goer.doc
