I have recently brought a new d500 on O2 in England and every hour to two hours i keep getting an error saying 'DNS Error' and the only option is to press ok. Its driving me mad!!!
I have set up my MMS and my GPRS with all the settings and have tripple-checked them.
I have searched for hours on the internet but no joy.
So its up to you to help me guys!!!

I was told by samsung it was to do with my network operator so ic onstacted o2 and they said that you cannot get email on o2 pay as you go and to contact samsung. Screw That.
Fine. I settle for that. Is there a way i can turn it off or even just the settings for contract email just so it shuts up.

HELP!!!!

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but what is "Contract Email"? Also, does the "DNS Error' message appears when you keep your phone on idle or does it show up when you're actively doing something?
DNS Error, I'd kinda suspect it would come from WAP. I know that SMS doesn't require an IP address, not quite sure for MMS, as my main phone doesn't even have MMS support, but I don't think MMS requires an IP address either.

"CONTRACT EMAIL" = (I Mean) Pay Monthly Settings For EMAIL.
Im on pay as you go.
The DNS Error appears whenever. Regulary too.
I was told by samsung it was to do with my email settings. DNS is something like Direct Network Server for GPRS. I think along those lines. I dont even want to use my email on my phone i just want to get rid of the error message if that means setting it up, ill do that. I checked my GPRS adn MMS settings ands they are all correct.
Its only annoying becasuse it displays the message, you press ok and it unlocks itself. Fine but when its in my pocket i dont want it unlocking itself.

Goodness!
Thank God I'm not the only one getting the "DSN Error" ... it is driving me crazy. For me, the phone is working fine (email, text messaging, picture, etc...), but I just can't get rid of it!
Anyone?

all i can sadly say is, same problem with our phone, only got it yesterday, tried setting up email unsuccessfully, and even though we cancelled the email setting that darn dns error keeps coming up, cant do anything about it, although someone told me, you could try and reset the default factory settings, just make sure you have saved your pics, videos , addresses etc to simcard.

1) menu
2) messages
3) email
4) settings
5) recieve settings
6) it will have an option called check interval so clik left until it says 'not used'!!!
7) then on read reply change it to 'no' AND SAVE!!!

th reason for dns error mate is because you have tried to send an email and there is no email settings in the fone so it keeps tryin or you have set it to auto recieve emails there again its tryin to connect to the service and its not connectin so it sez dns error ta peterculley!!
