I cannot seem to be able to remove the face plate on the nokia 6255i, I can release all the sides except the top. Can you tell me how to get the faceplate off?

I purchased a faceplate and have about destroyed the original one trying to get it off. I'm like you, I don't think it comes off.

I broke off the original faceplate then used a tiny pair of needle-nose pliers to pry off the piece of plastic encoated on the lock-in spindle at the top of the phone that everyone's having trouble with. After this is completely removed, the new faceplate will pop on just fine. But you have another problem in the cover over the camera and flash is just atrocious to put on. The double-sided tape used to TAPE the little cover in place is going to wrinkle up. Then, it's nice and blurry to take a picture through. So, I took it off, went back to the original cover and pried off the lens cover from there. Then I superglued it to the new faceplate. This all being said, don't try to use the new faceplates unless you've already broken the original - this is obviously not what Nokia intended for us to do.

If you look underneath your screen when you open it up there is a little grey sticker. this may have your cellphone providers logo on it, or it may not. it doesnt matter. anyway, peel it off and you will find a little SCREW lolol unscrew it and you can take your faceplate off. haha i had the same exact problem putting mine on too guys. Oh, and be carefull putting the new one on because i cracked my edge clipping the last side in.

How can you find the right driver to unscrew it with?
I have these itty bitty ones and it still doesn't work.

I ended up just ripping it off and cutting the screw out the hard way.

Dude,
here is the deal....you simply remove the label on the inside of the phone that says "alltel" or other brand name service. There is a small allen or hex key in there that has to be loosened, then the rest of the faceplate just snaps off. Snap the new one back on, then reinstall the screw, then label and you are in business! This action does void your warranty, at least at the place that I bought my phone? Oh well, such is life!
