Is it possible to change the the text that is on the main screen when I open the phone. Currenty says Midwest Wireless, my provider. I'd like to change it to my wifes and my name since we both have the same phone now...

You cannot change what the alpha tag says just replace it with the time and date or relocate/remove it.

I have been messing with it for awhile. The manual stinks. I don't see how I can switch it to the date...

PST is an editing program for moto phones. Simple yet complex, needed mainly for the drivers and a program it brings for flash/flexing. As far as I know thats not possible to change with PST, but you can remove that alpha tag and date with some seem hexing. Let me know if your interested and well get started.

Well, it's not a big deal...I can live with it. Thanks for the offer of help though..I still can't get it to show the date..
plus, i ordered a data cable and software to save contacts, etc. I might be back for help!

I know it can be changed in pst
it can also be edited through a seem
i've done the seem myself

If you want to remove or relocate the alpha tag you need to do that with a program called MotoSkin v0.1.8 its a skin program, you dont really remove the alpha tag just place it under the wallpaper more or less, you can replace the alpha tag with the data by seem editing.
