I just recently purchased a brand new SHG-E315 for my birthday because I had heard such good things about it from friends and family and it was within my price range.
I have been reading all of the posts and stuff about getting mmf's on my phone but I am confused how to get them on my phone without the data cable. How do I find out my email address for the phone or can I download it through t-zones (WAP). If I can download it through WAP where could I go about hosting the file to download.

Your phone mail would be [your 9 digit phone number]@tmomail.net.
I've heard from some people that they are unable to save the music files attached to the email, so that method may or may not work for you.

Of course, the WAP method is always open to you. Hosting? Darn, they just slipped my mind. Look around this forum, I have seen several WAP hosting places mentioned in this forum.

Ok I figured how to browse to a WAP address so I should be able to download my ringtone but I need a place to host it. Thanks for the help with the email address, but my phone didn't recognize an attachment. I am probably going to buy the data cable now that I know I can make my own mmf.

Yes, it's probably a good idea to do so, but be aware that there are caveats with the data cable method. E.G., forget Java games uploading and a restrictive filesize limitations with images/sounds (even moreso than WAP, last I heard)
Don't make the mistake I made, and buy the geniune OEM cable appropriate for your phone. You won't regret with the additional option of unlocking/changing IMEI with that cable. Damn I wished I had that capability, atm.

Ok well I know this topic is going to move around a lot but I also have a few questions. I found a host to upload my .mmf file with but the problem is the file I created (20 seconds long) is 92 KB and I am guessing that is too big for the phone. I really like this song and I was wondering if there was a way to have a 20 second clip reduce down to 40KB. I use MP3 to WAV converter on the recommended settings for PSMPlay and then convert it to SMAF but the phone won't let me download a 92KB file.

I'm afraid that your only possible option of reducing the file size is to either: shorten the music length itself or lower the sample rate. Or try the WAP solution.
I've heard that the WAP/Mobile Internet method has a slightly more generous filesize limit for music. But I can't confirm that, as I've never used WAP on my phone.
With a data cable, you're limited to about 40k, which is roughly about 10 seconds of converted music.

You'll have to use CoolEdit or some similar program to trim the file size down to about 10 seconds.
Here's a link to a thread on the subject.

Follow the instructions in the second post of the thread and you'll be jamming in no time. BTW, I use the OEM serial data cable without any problems. They're cheap on eBay. Make sure you get one that is compatitable with your model.

Y'know ,you could've always tried that yourself .
But I don't think you can. The biggest mmf I was able to upload to my X426 and my dad's E316 (we do switch phones pretty often though) was 40 kb via PIMS & File Manager.
Worth a shot though.
