I had a Motorola V551 with Cingular and switched to T-Mobile. When I tried to switch the sim cards out the phone asked for a subsidy code. I put in all zeros and now the phone won't let me do anything. It says contact service provider and will only let me call 911. Can anyone help me out here?

We can't help you on that. You have locked yourself out. You must contact your provider for the PUK.

Do I call Cingular or T-Mobile? I don't mean to sound dumb, but what is PUK?

Since you are using t-momo sim, the phone must be locked to cingular. I would say cingular.
Hey ididwhat_no
Have you had any luck? I have a Cingular v551 also that I want to use with my Tmobile. Thanks

I think you misunderstud the original post. The error message is not a PUK message. There is no other prompt to input any numbers other than 911 for emergency. The error message reads " Contact Service provider"
apparently the phone is blocking all sims other than the current providers sim.
I am in the same situation. Anyone have any other solutions to this??

obtaining the PUK from cingular will not help you in this situation.
I have done that already, there is no prompt to enter the PUK code
unless there is a hidden way of entering this code perhaps.
does anyone know how to enter codes without being prompted to do so?
