Hello Everyone,
I finally got my LG 1300i phone working with a data cable and LG Data Contents software.
As it turns out, the file format for ringtones is .MMF
In addition, it appears the software rejects any file that is over 25kB
This makes for really short ringtones with not so good quality. I've converted wavs from CD 44100 to 8000 (whatever Hz) but the file size is always too large thus the software won't allow the transfer unless I shrink it to a mere 2 seconds or so.
My questions are:
1. What is the best wav to MMF program out there? (I am currently using Yamaha software I think)
2. Are any other formats supported besides MMF?
3. Any way to bypass size restrictions?
It feels like a jyp when the tones on the phone are over a minute long and sound really good. I would like to do the same.
Thanks for your help.

i use cool edit pro to shorten the ringtone and convert it to a wav file, and then yamaha's wsc-ma2 to make it a .mmf. the quaulity is as good as if you were to download the song from the internet.

I use cool edit pro myself and I find the quality ok ... what settings do you use? I go as low as 8000 if the ringtones are longer than just a few seconds and that sucks the quality right out

what I do is just shorten the tone to like 10 sec or so maybe a little more, just depending on how heavy or how much bass it has depends on if you can make it longer or not. but i do not lower the db to 8000 or anything it doesnt make enought difference in the size and lowers the sound quality alot. so just pick the tone open it with cool edit, make it like 10 0r 11 secs and save it as a wav file and then use wscma2u to make it an mmf file sounds pretty good after all of this. any more questions just let me know.
