Hello,

please help, I've bought on eBay an usb datacable for my samsung X480 but I can't get it to sync with my pc icon_sad.gif

I've installed the prolific usb-to-serial driver, in device manager all is ok. I choose a com port, I set the speed to 115200.

I've installed pim file manager 1.0 and 2.0 (tried both), i configure in pim file manager to the same com port and same speed as in device manager.

Everytime I hit reload it doesn't find the phone (nothing appear on screen).

I've tried multiple usb port, multiple com port, etc... nothing works

But when i connect the mobile to the pc the battery reloading works... and it also make a noise on the phone when i plug on/off the cable...

I'm out of idea to make it work, please help icon_sad.gif

thank you in advance

It seems like you got the wrong cable. When you plug the cable to your phone, it should make a beep sound but it shouldn't activate the battery charging indicator. Is there a label on the cable that shows the model? The compatible models for X480 are:

D410-D418 / E300 / E310 / E600 / E710 / E715 / E850 / P100 / P400-P408 / S300-S307-S308 / V200-V206 / E600-E608 / X475 / X480 / E610

as well as

E105 / E315 / E316 / E317 / E715 / S307 / V205 / V206-P107 / X105 / X426-X427 / D415 / X475

As you say i think I have the wrong cable. On the cable there's a little stickers saying "SAM E700".

However i manage to make it work with a samsung X640 and X600 but not with X480 icon_sad.gif

But why do you say that it should not charge battery?
Is it fucking up the battery if it's not a compatible cable?

The reason why the cable works for X640 and X600 is because E700 cable is compatible to X640 and X600.

The pin assignment for the connections for the different cables are different. Hence, if you put a wrong cable to your phone, your phone will see wrong signals from the cable such as seeing a charging signal. It probably won't demage your phone but no guarantee.

There are two different A800, SGH-A800 and SPH-A800. I couldn't find cable info of A800 from Samsung but I guess they are not compatible to X480. The best is to ask Samsung.

js1662 i'd like to try another buy of cable on ebay. The seller says the cable is compatible my samsung (X480)

Could you please do a little check if that one seems correct or if he is giving lot of samsung phone model just to sell the cable?

Check here :

Most important for me is that the cable must work for X480 and X640

thank you
