Hi everyone. I have two phones I use. A Moto V551 for personal use and a Blackberry 7290 for business use. One bluetooth earpiece, moto hs810. I haven't figured out a way to easily use the one earpiece with both phones.
If I understand things correctly, the hs810 can only be actively paired with one phone at a time. So, what I would like to do is enable bluetooth on the business phone during the day, and then power off bluetooth on it after business hours and power on bluetooth in the personal phone during off hours/weekends. Goal would be to flip open the hs810 mic boom and have it connect automatically to which ever phone has bt powered on.
For some reason though I seem to have to go through the bt search/pairing sequence when I try to switch between the phones each time, which is a pain.
My absolute preference would be that I could keep bt powered on both phones at the same time and the hs810 would become active with which ever phone I might be using to dial out or receive a call.
So, is any of this really possible given current bt technology? Any hints on sequence of how I should set things up to make this easier?
I know I could buy a 2nd bt earpiece for the 2nd phone, but that would make even the top level bt geeks point and laugh at me, plus wouldn't want to get a bt arc between my ears

Sounds like it would be real convenient... That is, until you're in a room full of people with bluetooth capable phone and your headset keeps picking up their calls! lol... Good luck in finding a solution!

thats why you have to mate your headset with your phone, to prevent that problem

I understand that is why I would want to pair the earpiece. I just want to pair it with two phones of my choice
Is the bottom line just the fact there is no way to have an ear piece work with two phones that it has been paired with?

For someone in the future that may see this thread and have the same question I did originally, here is the answer
Finally figured out the correct sequence.
- power on bt on the first phone. Pair it with the headset
- turn off bt on the first phone.
- repeat with the second phone
At this point, the headset will work with either. Trick is to power on bt on the phone you want to use the headset with, then flip open the mic boom. It will connect without problems. When you want to use the other phone, just be sure to power off bt first on the "current" phone before powering on bt on the 2nd phone with the boom mic closed.
If you ever try doing this with bt powered on with both phones that have been paired, everything gets confused and you have to go through the repairing sequence.
