The limit for length of ringtone is 9.938 seconds when using sound forge and this brings you in at around 39kb, even 10.031 will put you over the limit when trying to upload to the phone. For the yamaha software to work you have to save these files as 4-8khz 16bit mono ANY other way and you will get the caution unsupported message. I have created a lot, and these can be found in the T100.org v200 forum. Alot of mp3 loop ringtone problems (distortion, crackling) are to do with the firmware on the phone most problematic seem to be the c and d series firmware, i don't think there's any way of improving it without flashing.

To do this, you need 2 softwares.
First you need a Acoustica MP3 To Wav Converter+ All you want to do is convert from MP3 to WAV! from http://mp3towave.com/

Mobile Music Polyphonic is a polyphonic ringtone composition and converting software. It can convert your favorite MP3 wave and midi music to mobile phone polyphonic ringtone. You can write your own music in Mobile Music Polyphonic and save to polyphonic ringtone format file. It can save your music into standard MIDI, SP midi and SMAF format (*.mmf) file. You can convert mid to mmf, mmf (based on midi) to mid, standard midi to sp midi, wave to mmf, mp3 to mmf, mp3 to midi, wave to midi and mp3 to wave file from http://www.-edited-.com/index.html

One thing you need to realize is that due the limited phone memory, you can only make little less than 16 seconds length of mp3 ringtone icon_lol.gif

Kicks........... You make this all sound so easy! lol.
Just wish it was.

I recently got a Samsung E330 and now wish I hadnt, bought the connector lead etc and got ready to get some decent ring-tones onto new mobile. Find out that they now have to be converted.
Have read through what you have said to do, also went to the site mentioned to get the yahama converter program, along with the .exe file name, found it another place your message was posted. No sign of the program icon_sad.gif and the other program you mention - the sound forge - I have Limwire and found one on there, downloaded it along with a virus icon_sad.gif , really do want to get some new tunes on this mobile as the ones that are on it are really rubbish.
Any suggestions on were else to look for these 2 programs needed?

Hi

Just go to http://smaf-yamaha.com/tools/downloads.html and use the second download in the list, to convert WAV to MMF. Make sure you don't use MMF files larger than around 30KB, else it wont' work.
