i am willing to switch from cingular to t-mobile but i don't really know what a smart access account is, and if u choose to have one or they make u have one?

Smartaccess is an account type designed for customers with poor or unestablisheda credit so they can get postpaid service without having to pay a large deposit (SA just pay activation fee of either 35$ or 75$). Limitations with smartaccess customers are:
-restricted to 1 line of service
-150$ spending limit
-cannot call(without prepaid international dialing care) or roaming internationally
-restricted to a voice package that is 50$ per month or less (right now largest Nationwide plan SA customes rcan get is 1000min free nights/weeekndsa for $45.99
You can get off smartacces after 1 year of service with no more then 1 non pay suspend/cancel in the last 6 months. Time when your phone is voluntarily suspended ie lost or stolen/seasonal/military suspend do not count as time towards your 1 year.

So u won't have to pay like a $200 deposit?

Keep in mind that if all you qualify for is smartaccess and you want the unlimited sidekick Internet the largest voice plan you can have is 300 min with free weekends (the 50$ MAC fee cap).
