My sister and I just got the v551 and nokia 3220 from cingular family share plan. However whenever I call a local phone this message comes up saying that you need to put the area code and then the number. Has anyone had the same problem? I called customer service and they said in some areas you have to call the area code. Is there any way to bypass that?

Dialing with 10 digit format may take longer but its better for routing your call to whoever you are trying to reach.

I've had numerous calls where customers are dialing the 7 digit phone number and getting other people in bigger metro areas.
Do youself a favor, take the extra 1-2 seconds and press 3 more buttons.
