I purchased the phone on ebay and was told that the phone was unlocked and ready to go. I have found a few sites that will unlock the phone but want to charge me $45. Please help me out here I can't afford to spend that much more money on a used phone. I have cingular so I know it is compatable with my service

either pay for the service or shop for cheaper. That is the only way to unlock it for your case.
OR email mod old_fool. He can do it for free. You just need to pay round-trip postage.

I recently flashed and flexed my V600, (someone told me that also unlocked the phone, I haven't had a chance to try it yet), but I have heard that you can get a software for the V600 that will allow you to shoot video. Does anyone know where I can get this, if it indeed exists? Thanks!!

Flashing and Flexing will not unlock your phone, However flexing your phone "can" lock your phone to a specific carrier if its unlocked. There is no way to get video record on a triplets phone, this includes the V600.

If your phone runs on Triplets based firmware you cannot have vid record. You can see that your phone is a triplets phone by pressing *#9999# or menu>settings>phone status>other information>S/W Version
