I'm in the US, and nobody seems to have the firmware for the 3230...
Does anybody know how I could get my hands on a copy of an unbranded 3230 firmware? Then I could just walk into the store and give it to them on a CD.

You're not allowed to have Nokia firmware. It's not public domain! Every Nokia firmware on the internet is not legal. No support here.
And they surely have the unbranded firmware... but it's not allowed to them to flash a branded phone with an unbranded firmware.

oh... well that sucks
I've been reading on nokiafree that people have been taking their 3230s to Nokia Service Points and have the guys there flash their phones with unbranded firmware in the UK. I don't think we have Nokia service locations here in the US though...

it seems like they just complain about Orange's homescreen and the people at the Nokia Service Center just flash it for them. Seriously though, I don't understand how Orange thought they could improve on Nokia's graphical user interface. Nokia has the best GUIs in the industry.
