I do have a OEM wall charger. I only use the car charger when I'm in my car and go to use my phone and find that it's dying.

No one has made any comment to how my problem w/my RaZr was handled by Cingular. (sending me a refurbished one when my phone was only 4 1/2 mths old.) And also the deal w/how the warranty works.

Does this not seem like a rip off? icon_ermm.gif

A refurb is better then a broken phone, you get your phone serviced without receiving a refurb but you need to deal with the manufacturer, your service provider may send you a refurb because they are just the middle man, and they do it as a courtesy to cut down on the amount of time it would take to get a warranty repair from motorola.

Not sure about the US but under UK law the duty of care is between the customer and whoever takes your money and they are the ones who must deal with any warranty issues. The store where you bought the phone or the service provider if you dealt with them directly may tell you to contact the manufacturer for repair but this has no legal basis - and you should point this out to them. If you bought your phone on credit card the duty of care to you is from the credit card company.

Did this start after flashing/flexing? If not the gold pads under the keypad may be misaligned with their individual domes. You could try replacing the keypad flex assembly.

This is what I did to fix the locked keypad.i think someone spilt beer on me a bar while it was in my pocket because it stopped working shortly after this happened.take out the battery and sim card. I used a torx driver to open the top part of the phone. if your looking at the phone with the camera on top there is a flew ribbon on the top left.gently pop that off (from the socket). Grab some qtips and some rubbing alcohol.dab the socket and the connector with the qtips.also clean around the side buttons as best as possible. plug the flex ribbon back in. put the battery back in power it up and hopefully it will work again

icon_clover.gif Short story long, it works! So all y'all without warranties, don't give up!

I had the vol. down button go out a couple months ago, and also the camera go all distorted, then quit alltogether. Do huge deal, just waiting for my contract to end in may so I can get a new phone. But then the buttons stopped working except on/off. I tried all the usual stuff, including the keypad flex fix since I have done the monster pack. Nothing worked. Then I read the post above about cleaning the contacts in the top ribbon. And it worked! Course it did. Cleaning the contacts is always the answer. When I opened the top case, I found several pins looking corroded, and the ribbon not looking so good. I scraped, swabbed (make sure the battery is out and phone is discharged!) and I generally played around. Success! Thanks to solat80! icon_w00t.gif

I just tried this too. I have a V3 and the keys didn't work. Now only the 3,4 and on/off key works. Is this a good sign or not? I don't know what to do next. I haven't had my phone for long but was 2nd hand so don't know the history whether its had any addons
