I just flashed my practice v300 (almost getting the balls to do it on my v600... heheh) with the triplets 72R, and it runs nicely. Somehow though it put it back to the old v300 standard flex. If I put one of those newer v600 flexes on it what would be the benefits? Should I just leave it?

If you just flash your v600, your current flex should not change.

Yes, it would be beneficial to upgrade the flex.

It is up to you.

Weird, it reverted back to it's old flex when I flashed it. I had a v600 flex on there and then when I flashed it to 72R it went back to some SE flex or something. I dunno.

What is the difference between a flash and a reflash? and does 72R mean 72 Reflash?

as far as I know there is no actual difference between a flash and a reflash, well no difference that is useful to us as both do the same thing. Your phone shouldn't revert to a different flex, it can't do that, it could be that it is showing you the wrong flex version. I've had 2 V600s n never had that kind of problem.

Alright. So I'm going to flash/flex my 600. Which flash/flex's should I use?

What I really hope to gain:

More memory
Better RF
Faster menu response
Ringlights MUST work

Which should I go with?

And is it better to flash, then flex the phone? Or vice versa?

right, the flash is like the operating system of the phone and the flex is the programs and things, that was how it was explained to me.
I use .72R flash and .E9 flex, although I have customised it a lot.
This flash/flex has more memory as it's not branded, the menu response is faster and ringlights DO work.

What about reception? Any noticeable difference?

Also, if I JUST flash my phone, I won't lose contacts or settings or anything right? That's just with the flex?

Correct, flashing doesn't wipe any settings or contacts, but you can just use MPT to backup your phonebook so that isn't that big a deal.
Reception is better, I think. It's definately not worse I know that.
