My hearing is fairly poor, so I need to buy a phone with outstanding audio quality. I only need suggestions on the earpiece part of the phone, because I really can't use a speakerphone.
The three things I need most are: 1) good reception, 2) crystal clear audio, and 3) ability to increase volume significantly if I am in a noisy area.
I don't need a PDA/smart phone, nor do I need ringtones, camera, etc. Just a phone that I can hear!
I am with T-Mobile, but I assume that the phone which you recommend would behave the same with any provider.
Thanks.

I've spent nearly two hours on the phone with Samsung Inc., and still don't have an answer. Does anyone know an employee who works for either a service provider or a manufacturer, and who has access to technical specs of the various phones?

My V600 is LOUD, but i beefed up the volume through seem editing, if you buy a motorola phone they are pretty easy to modify, so you can have the volume so loud the sounds starts to distort lol.

Hah! What is loud to you is but a soft tone to me.
Alright, so the volume can be adjusted with editing. My other problem is audio clarity. Is your moto crystal clear? Do you have any info about other phones with great audio?

I have had access to Nokia, Samsung, Siemens, Sony Ericsson, and Motorola.
Moto is my favorite due to the clarity of the sound, and it is still pretty loud.
Nokia has less clarity, but better reception, and is also loud
Samsung is distorted and can still be loud
Siemens and Sony Ericsson are quiet phones
I hope this helps your decision, but feel free to test all of our phones at one of the T-Mobile stores near you.

Thanks you guys.
It seems as if no phone has great audio AND reception. Can it really be so hard for these manufacturers to get it right across the board?
I, too, have noted that Moto has pretty good audio clarity but inferior reception. I guess that the ability to modify the Motorola phones will push me toward them.
BTW, I've tried to get answers from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. Samsung had the gall to tell me that all of their phones had identical audio quality. LG would only discuss volume. Motorola never returned my message. Nice.

I really appreciate your advice and offer to help me modify the phone. I'll let you know how things are going after I've used a new phone for a few days.

No problem just remember by modifying the S/w on your phone you will void the manufacturer's/T-Mobile limited warranty.
