Hi,

I have been following what all of you have said for the last 2 hrs, i have been able to edit and upload seems and stuff.

I got Samsungs "v3 video.rar" (the t-mobile one as i am on t-mobile UK) and i uploaded the files and it said everything went fine. i restarted the phone and it loaded fine. but, when i go to multimedia to go to the video camera it is not listed in the menu.

I am doing something wrong what can i do.

p.s in hex editing, when you say - " offset 1D3 - no bit changes need to be made just change the offset to 01" - how do i do that?

what s/w version do you have... if you dont have bootloader 8.23 or higher this mod will not work.

Is there a person who can knows enough about how to enable the V3 video recording function, and who has a firm enough grasp of the English language to explain it? Can you tell me what p2kman, Xvi32, and V3 video.rar actually do, and how they interact, if at all, with one another? What are seems? I'm not a technophobe, but I don't have the slightest idea where to start with this. The instructions in earlier posts seem to assume that the reader has a prior knowldege of such things. I would like a detailed walkthrough describing how to enable the video function on the V3, not a sparse, presumptive explanation. A person who knows a subject well is able to explain it in simple terms. If you cannot explain a subject in simple terms, you do not know enough about it.

Many thanks

It's simple, I'm really new on this matter but I did it following his instructions. Let me try to explain it, english is not my first language so I'll do my best.

Be sure of the flash version you are running. To do so, (there are many ways) turn off your cellphone, turn it on and press * and #. It will display the information you need.
You MUST have bootloader 8.23 or newer and firmware version R374_G_0E.40.9DR or newer.

If you don't have that version go to www.motox.us and under Reflash menu find and download the version you'd like to upgrade to. Sams recommended version R374_G_0E.42.08R (it's the one I used)

Then on the main page you will find the bootfiles 8.23 or 8.26 (if your phone is unlocked), download it. You can always upgrade but downgrading is a bit difficult.

Follow Motox's fool-proof guide to upgrade your software. Once again, it's your choice to mod your cellphone and no one will be responsible for any consequences but you.
http://www.motox.us/motox101/howto_flash_flex.htm

If your keyboard doesn't work after that operation, download the keyboard fix from Motox's site and flex it checking just the "Override existing phone software even if it is newer than the superfile software" option.

After that you have two choices... either download Sams "V3 video.rar" file and follow the instructions for Newbies from Step 2 or go to Advanced Users and follow his instructions to do it yourself.

Option 1: Saves you some work and is based on the files he's got from his phone.
Option 2: Lets you customize your own cellphone files but requires some extra steps.

Hope it helps.

By the way, I think the next time you could ask for a detailed explanation but showing a little more respect for people like Sams.
