First, let me say that I thought this was a very easy to follow tutorial. I definately appreciate the time put into it, xXxSamsungxXx. I'm new to this kinda thing... and using your instructions I did get the video recording to work.
I did have a weird issue come up after using this tutorial. My menus for my browser have changed. For example, it's set up like:
[accept button]
1
What's hot
2
Mail & Messaging
Etc. The "My Account" feature is no longer accessible too. Some pages like CNN are unable to load anymore. Using the accept buttons on the tops of pages lets me search or enter text... but it's a little akward and not how it worked previous to enabling video recording.
I'm thinking I accidently overwrote something? I haven't found a topic about this. I could be searching for the wrong terms though.
Any advice is appreciated.
My Flex is GSMv3xxCIN02NA0A5

Yes that type of cable will work. Read here http://xlr8.us/hofo there is information on the drivers that are to be installed. If one version doesnt work for you then there is another version available here: http://www.motoaide.com:8081/download.htm

Yeah, I called Cingular today. They reset my browser's "feature settings" (whatever that meant). Still no change when I restarted the phone.
I thought about putting the old settings back in? Like, using the backups saved during the tutorial. I'm not sure if that would screw things up more.
Just curious as to what you'd probably do. I just haven't found anyone with this issue.

hi samsung, i have a question, i did update the s/w to 08, and played with the seems, and now i do have the video camera working, everything works fine, just one little issue though, on the front display, when its open, before i use to get the rogers symbole, and now i get the phone symbole with a yellow triangle ! mark in it, and also, when i try to plug the phone to charge, when its closed, on the outer display, it shows battery is low, and inside going through the menu to batttery display, it shows how many bars i have, and also while charging, it stays at red flashing bettery, and it only reads 2 bars through the battery display in the menu, for no metter how long i have it plugged, but when i unplug it, thats when i really see how much battery i have,
is there something that can be done to fix this
plz let me know, thank you
