Ah, I see what my problem is now. The shop gave me a V3r instead of the regular V3. Which phone would you say is better (in terms of modding, but more importantly in terms of how good it actually is as a phone?)

In terms of modding the V3 wins hands down at the moment. As a phone there is little between them, the V3r has slightly more memory. The hardware is different but basically the v3r is a cost down exercise

K, I'm getting a wee bit off topic here, so I'm gonna ask one more question then leave you folks alone; since I'm on a 28 days trial period for this phone, and it's not quite what I was looking for, so I considered getting a V3i. The reason I ask about this is because from the looks of some messages here it seems as thought the plain V3 has to be modded to unlock fulll vid resolution etc, whereas on my V3r, you just have an option for that in the menu. Is the V3i at the same stage as my one, ie no modding necessary to unlock full functions?

Again, sorry for troubling you, and thank you very much for your patience.

There are lots more mods you can do to the v3i than the v3r and its much more advanced anyway - takes memory card, better camera etc

The v3i already has video.

Take the v3i everytime

Hows Everyone doing today? Wellp, I enabled longer video on my first razr and it kind of fell in the toilet while I was brushing my teeth(dont make fun; it happens). I bought a new one and when I went back to do all that seem editing and what not to enable video I couldnt find Samsung's video.rar file anywhere on my hard drive. I came back to this forum looking for it and it seems as though Samsung's site is down. Anyone have the file saved on their computer where they can zip it and email it to me?(-edited-.com) Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way, an easy way to change the code on your phone, including the security code is by using Motokit 1.06 which can be found at moto modders.(Seen a post earlier about someone who got locked out of their phone.Hope I helped.) Good day everyone.

I followed the directions from above, and at the end after I disconnected phone it will not power back on. The keypad flashes on and off, and the cingular logo flashes on and off when the phone is closed. Please help.

I have two questions.

#1. I’m getting a unlocked black v3 from amazon. What are the chances that it will have video capture right out of the box?

#2. If not could I use this

S/W Version: R374_G_0E.40.9CR_MOTOX.shx
Flex Version: GSMV3xxT674TA09E
Bootloader: BOOT0823
Language Pack: 0003
Video Recording: Capable
Stock Moto/Unlocked
[12.9 MB]
[Uploaded.May.03.05]

and not have to edit anything just flash the phone?

If its a new phone it will probably have it.

That flash is pretty old - there are much more recent ones. It will work if it is a standard V3 and not a V3r, V3x or V3i

Being a newbie and with much appreciated docu from Samsung, I got the video capture working as it should icon_smile.gif

However, after video capture working, following menu options became in-active or in-accessible: (still) camera capture and folder pictures in MultiMedia section and option QuickDial in OfficeTools/DialingServices. Also recvd MMS pictures can not be stored on phone icon_sad.gif

ATTN: SpeedDial however is still working OK.

Anyone has suggestion howto get them back to work???

Currently using s/w Flex SE8613AXXL1048 // SW version R374_G_0E.42.08R
