One more quick question. Just trying to be safe not sorry but the S/W version you recommended in the first page of this forum is R374_G_0E.42.08R is it ok for Cingular's network and phones also?

Yes its safe with Cingular. You will need PST (and patch), smartmoto or RSD/RSD lite to flash your phone, not p2kman. You can download smartmoto from here: http://www.motoaide.com:8081 you will have to google for PST/RSD if you want to use those programs.

Check out the firmware and flashign section for more info on flashing. The process for the V3 is the same as Vxxx models.

THE NEWB GUIDE
Part 1 (What you Need to get)
-buy data cable
-download p2kman (you will also need either MPT or PST drivers for p2kman to recognize your phone, no posts about why p2kman wont recongize your phone in this thread, rather you should start a new thread).
-download V3 Video.rar I put together
-Check Firmware on your phone and make sure it is 90R or newer and has boot loader 8.23 or newer. I recommend R374_G_0E.42.08R which has the 8.26 boot loader. To check firmware press *#9999# or menu>settings>phone status>other information>S/W Version.
Part 2 (Making Backups)
-Open p2kman
-Above the Download seems button in the FROM box type 0032 & in the TO box also type 0032.
-Click download and save the file to a location but do NOT rename it, just leave as xxxx_yyyy
-Above the Download seems button in the FROM box type 004a & in the TO box also type 004a.
-Click download and save the file to a location but do NOT rename it, just leave as xxxx_yyyy
-Click on update list button
-find directory /a/mobile/system
-highlight file mma_ucp and press phone to pc button, save the file in the same location as you two backup seems
-highlight file mma_dcp and press phone to pc button, save the file in the same location as you two backup seems
Part 3 (Uploading New Seems)
-Extract V3 Video.rar
-Open P2kman
-Have phone on, sim in and connect to computer with cable
-Above the upload seems button, in the box labelled SEEM type 0032. In the box labelled REC type 0001.
-Click on the upload seem button and locate seem 0032_0001 in the V3 Video file.
-Wait till p2kman says ok
-Above the upload seems button, in the box labelled SEEM type 004a. In the box labelled REC type 0001.
-Click on the upload seem button and locate seem 004a_0001 in the V3 Video file.
-Wait till p2kman says ok
Part 4 (Uploading New Menu Files)
-Click on update list button
-Open directory /a/mobile/system
-Locate mma_ucp, hightlight by single clicking on the file and then click on pc to phone
-Locate mma_ucp in the V3 Video folder and click open.
-Click on the update list (this step is prob not necessary but doesnt harm anything)
-Again go back to directory /a/mobile/system
-Locate mma_dcp, hightlight by single clicking on the file and then click on pc to phone
-Locate mma_dcp in the V3 Video folder and click open.
-Click on the update list (this step is prob not necessary but doesnt harm anything)
-When list is done updating click on the restart phone button, when p2kman says phone is disconnected remove data cable.
-When phone powers up again Video should be enabled.

My girlfriend has a T-Mobile V3 Razr and I actually bought a credit from a website to unlock her phone. It reads my Cingular and says it is able to unlock my phone but I don't want to use it on my phone. When I read the T-Mobile, it said there is a new security system in the phone. If I flash it with another version of software, do you think it will remove the security so that it can be unlocked and if so, what S/W version do you recommend for the T-Mobile.
I've had mine for a while and she just got hers. I changed her seems and the video recorder feature worked like a charm because of the newer version of software but I have to flash mine to get it to work. Haven't had a chance yet.

I do not fully understand what you are trying to say, no flash/flex will unlock your phone, however if your phone is unlocked flexing can lock it. If you are going to upgrade the flash to enable the video cam use either the flash I suggested on the first page of this thread or the C3R flash.
