What a joke, you give up because no one answers your post after only 2 and a half hours. Some of us have lives outside the forum and you should atleast give it a couple days. Good luck.

Take the back off the phone, check the water damage indicator (circular sticker). If its white then call your service provider and arrange a warranty exchange, if its red then the phone has been exposed to water and the warranty has been voided. If you bought the phone lets say off ebay and you have no warranty you may have to try to repair yourself. Odd are that its a hardware problem because the screen is out, therefore if you are willing to invest the money on a new lcd/ribbon that may be the way to go. However the fact that the phone was restarting makes me think that there might be a possible s/w problem.
Have you dont any modifcations to the phone that could have caused this issue? Either H/w or S/w? My suggestions would go in this order:
-Contact Service provider for warranty exchange
-Flash phone to possibly cure and S/w problems
If you think the phone is worth spending money on:
Replace LCD/Ribbon incase they have been
damaged
If you dont think its worth spending money on:
Buy a new phone.

Flashing is basically a procedure to change the s/w on the phone. If you want to flash your phone I suggest you check out this section: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic19729.html
P.s. make sure you read lots before doing it and if you need any questions answered that are not in the above thread, please ask before you flash your phone.
