If you want to do upload it thru infra red just right click on the link save target as but make sure you rename it as blank.gif instead of blank.nol then just upload it thru your infra red Njoy

your link worked great and i was able to download the file to my phone... (nokia 6610)
however... now when i try to go to /settings/ display settings/ operator logo - it says "operator logo cannot be shown when roaming" or some crazy shiz like that...
anyone have any idea what this means? i can't stand having "T-Mobile" in my face everyday.....

I know what you mean. Sound like you're not in your Home-Network (maybe too weak in that area where you are).
When I'm not in the o2-Network (my Home-Network), it displays the Networkname of the Operator (T-Mobile in my case).
Try setting your Home-Network manually, how is explained in your manual.

note: u must have pc suite!
1. from pc suite choose nokia pc graphics
2.click the operator logo icon on the top left
3. activate the IR on ur phone and point it to the IR of ur pc/laptop
4. when thers a connection, click the icon that looks like a small post card and says"send picture over the air"
5. data will be read from ur phone, punch in ur own mobile phone number and click send.
6. u will receive an sms that says (operator logo received), save it.
7. from settings: display settings: opertaor logo: choose on!!
thats it!!! u now have a really transparent logo!! please try this and let me know if it worked for u too! |
I have a even simpler way! Go to indiatimes.com/site/site/indexrt.html Click on creat ur own. Here u will find an option at the botem of the screen(creat operator logo). simply creat an empty logo( dont put a dot) Upload it & u will gat a no. send sms on 8888 (LG space & the no u have got for the empty ol). Simply u will get ur empty screen O L.

i found out that AT&T in the US doesn't allow logo changes... the SIM card denies this...

I managed to get my 6200 working, and I'm using AT&T. I used the logo url listed above, accessing it on the phone and saving it (you may want to add that as a bookmark before trying... it's long and slow to type in, and if connection fails for whatever reason you get to do it again).
To do it I:
- turned off the logo (setting->screen->operator logo->off)
- downloaded and saved the logo (it'll tell you operator logo received)
- turned the logo back on (actually I think it did this itself, but I turned it off and back on again anyway)
- then restarted the phone - the existing carrier name didn't go away until I did that step
... probably the only two important steps are downloading it and powering the 6200 off and then back on, but if you have trouble maybe fiddle with the rest
