It's useless to talk to T-Mobile's Customer NoService concerning this. I recently changed to T-Mobile and was surprised with text messaging fees to all three of our phones for text messages which were not opened, not read.
Why would T-Mobile be concerned of this. I'd like to know how much they profit from this tactic from their millions of unsuspecting customers. Each person may say "Well, it's only 15 cents, that won't hurt my pocketbook." But, multiply that by all the customers being charged! It's not necessarily what the customer is being ripped off for, but rather, T-Mobile's profiting.
I wonder how much a class-action law suit would cost T-Mobile, would they do something then? I've already just sent complaints to the FTC and the FCC. Everyone with this problem should do the same.Otherwise, NOTHING will be done to correct this.

Excellent idea. I just filed complaints as well, and also filed a complaint with the BBB. If enough of us do this, maybe it will get T-Mobile's attention.

I have same problems with tmobile, I kept getting unwanted text message for the past one and half years, and finally I can't stand it any longer and call them, and the csrs just asked me to sign up their unwanted text message package or change phone number.
Would you let me know how to file complaints to FTC, FCC and BBB? Thanks.

Hello,
My 14 year old daughter is getting nude photos and smut text messages sent to her cellphone. I called T-Mobile to ask them to remove text messaging capability from my account. They told me that they could not, that they use that method to contact their customers.
Excuse me! Why can't you just use your cellular phone to and an automated message device to contact me if you have anything important to tell me. BTW - I haven't been contacted from you in over 8 years in my time with T-Mobile. To turn away from this type of deviant activity makes me very angry.
In a sense I feel that T-Mobile is abetting these people that send this stuff out to youth, and are unwilling to take a stance and stop this criminal behavior. Beyond their monetary charges for unwanted messages, and collecting for something the customer didn't solicit or request, allowing this sexual content to utilize their network seems like an even bigger class action law suit to me.
Any attorneys out there sick of the way big companies collect money but wont return a service for the buck? How about the attorneys that are sick of our youth being submitted to crap like this, where are you?
Please help the little people!

I've had this same problem too. I just tried the suggested idea for RAZR V3 although mine is not the V3, I'll see.
My previous method was simply to allow the inbox full and not delete any messages. The only annoyance about that is the constant nagging when a new message is waiting.
I did set messages to expire in 1 minute but that does not seem to work either, because the beeping lasts a long time.

I found this discussion by means of a Google search "how to disable text messaging."
I am having a battle with Suncom which is now part of T-Moobile, who refuses to disable text messaging.
I have written the BBB over this, in which I explained that I felt that for a phone company to charge you for any unsolicited messages that come to you, even if you do not read them, as Suncom/T-Mobile does, is tantamount to theft, even fraud on the part of that company, especially if they do not explain this policy to you when you sign up.
I encourage everyone to likewise contact the BBB on this to get them to stop this. They will not stop until they get more complaints. Only by acting as one, will we get anything to change.
Unfortunately, I tryed to provide the weblink, and I cant yet, cuz I haven't met the criteria for doing so. This is my first post.
What say you? Is anybody else fed up enough with being told that you have to pay for something that you didn't ask for, or even read?
What if the mailman came to your door every day, and said, here is your junk mail, and you have to take it, and here is your bill for it? You wouldn't stand for it! We shouldn't stand for this either!

Is anybody interested in having the BBB cellphoone weblink? If so, after I get 8 more posts here, I will be able to post the link, cuz the system won't let me provide the BBB weblink till I get at least 10 posts.

I just read on another thread on this forum that someone who has ATT has successfully gotten themm to remaove text and internet capabilities on his phone, with a phone call.
So, what I get out of that is that is appearantly Suncom/T-Mobile either simply won't do it, or their equipment, technology, technicians, and service are not as good as ATT's. So, my question is: why should we use Suncom/T-Mobile?
Appearantly, when our contracts are up, anyone who is fed up with the lack of cooperation by Suncom/T-Mobile over text messaging charges needs to shop another company.

I successfully got them to remove web access and picture mail from one of the phones I have. This helps, but it still doesn't fix the text issue.
The phone line that is the problem also was getting hit with telemarketing texts, so I called and they were going to charge me $15 to change numbers, but I got hold of a supervisor who agreed to waive the $15 fee to cahnge numbers. Sometimes it pays to be persistant.
