Text messages delayed by 1hr, started happening today!

This morning, all of a sudden, all txt msgs to my phone are delayed by up to an hour. I tested through the cingular website and sent messages to my phone from the site and from my work system and from my phone. I called cingular, they told me everything is in sync, and the lady even resync'd me. Any idea why messages are getting delayed? I get mission critical msgs to my phone on the road and this is pissing me off.

fyi in the future would be nice to know the gerneral area you live in , not all isues are nation wide ty

consider yourself luckey, 1 hour is not too bad.
I sent my wife a "happy birthday" massage that was delayed ofe 8 hours. (St Louis, MO area)
I have had all my messages delayed for 2 to 6 hours and not one of them has been delivered in under 2 hours for months. (mostly service area about 70 miles south of St. Louis, MO)
Not since bafore the joining of AT&T and Cingular has ANY message I have sent been delivered faster than 2 hours.
When I questioned customer service about itthey ust said that it was due to the number of people now on the same network and that nothing could be done until they upgrade the network hardware. Sounded kind of a weak excuse to me. Oh well, I just won't text message much until they get it fixed.

At least yours are getting through! My SMS text messages have not been going through since Thursday evening. Yes, I have called customer service 3 times and left messages on their forum. I am being patient, but my patience is running thinning.

I and my wife text message alot, and we have been getting the messages slow at times,(dallas texas area), but the problem we cannot get fixed is getting the same message 2,3,4 times, and charged for each time. Last month got 42 pages of info. to sort thru. It is getting annoying.
